Here Hear, Listen, 2022

Sounds made visible. The charcoal used to make the marks is from a brushfire that took place two years earlier (2020), on the site where the listening took place. Beginning at one end of a 98 foot scroll of paper and continuing until the end, the artist made marks related to ambient sounds of the place -- both natural and human made.
